Boy are we out of shape!!!
So today we went snorkeling at Shark Cove.........one of Bill's Hawaiian co-workers told us to try this area. It was a nice drive and a nice area......We saw lots of fish but it was also on the North Side which is known for surfing. Of course thankfully this is winter so surf is low and thus people snorkel. Anyway it proved one thing to us.......we are getting old and are very out of shape! lol lol Was a little tough in and out due to the rocks or waves ;-) in fact we both got a little beat up the one time lol but did not diminish our fun! We may be out of shape but we're young at heart so we had a ball. Sad tonight is last night then back to reality! We fly out tomorrow morning at 7:30 and arrive in DC after midnight.............will be hard to go back to work! Oh well we've been blessed it has been a lovely week.

Aloha......one more day in Paradise
Then back to reality........so it's Thursday night in Hawaii (yep I know my computer says it's Friday already but it's on VA time)
so anyway tomorrow is our last day to enjoy Hawaii.
Today I chilled by the pool and hung out at the Hilton while poor Bill worked. Friday no matter what he is playing tourist! We hope to snorkel then sadly Saturday we fly back to reality!
(That's Bill in the shadows of a soon to be sundown.)

Long nice day............
So today Bill played tourist for at least most of the day. We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center which my good buddies Joann S. and Maryann suggested we visit during our last trip out.
This time we made it and what a nice day! Long day but very interesting and wonderful show of native dancers. We did the whole nine yards...toured the park during the day, lots of Hawaiian crafts and quilting, then we attended a nice Luau dinner with the 2 hour evening show as the finish! Great day! Tomorrow poor Bill works and I get to veg by the pool.

Eeeeekkkkkkkkkk a normal quilter?
So today is really Monday but my computer is still on VA time versus Hawaii timezone ;-)
Anyway I had a nice relaxing day in the sun then skipped out to visit a quilting store Hawaii style. Great store so many fabrics; actually a fabric/quilting store had lots of silk duponi ;-) which I was tempted but did not buy...sadly or badly I did buy FABRIC....going to someday do a Hawaii Pineapple wall hanging ;-) with some great batiks.

Easter Sunday....
Today we viewed Pearl Harbor......Somber yet very historical.
I also took time to take some photos of texture.....and some kewl positive negative pics. Wonder how I can use them in design? Possibly even an art quilt? Tomorrow I might even look for a quilt store while Bill works..lol
During my break from the sun of course.

I made it....
Well I'm in Hawaii........but was long trip. My plane got diverted to Wichita due to a medical evacuation...that was a first for me. Luckily the person it involved was alert when they took him and his family off and then even more luck there were 24 of us that needed the connection to Hawaii so they held our plane in San Diego till we arrived. Anyway here are views from our room. The hotel is packed compared to the time I was here is June. It's gonna be a nice relaxing break!

Hawaii here I come.....
Thankfully it's spring break! What's even better I get to spend most of it in Hawaii with my hubby. For some reason I need this break, I am hoping for sun and relaxation!
Funny but it's a full moon out tonight.......view off my back deck.
Well off to finish packing......I fly out early tomorrow morning, get to meet my hubby for our full week of sun and fun...... Happy Easter to all.

Wow life sure gets in the way!
Well sadly I have been caught in a whirlwind of obligations and sadly have not quilted for a couple weeks!!!! I'm not saying my thoughts have not been on quilting but I sadly just have not been at my sewing machine! The good thing is I took this time to have my sewing machine serviced which was good, since I knew that I had had some invisible thread sneak where it should not have been. Did you know that stuff can be very sneaky and then sadly warms up and stretches into even more nicks or cranny's? Then the invisible thread cools and hardens which can slow your machine down. Well the good news I pick my machine up tomorrow and it will be like new. But still no quilting for another week! I'm heading to Hawaii Saturday for a well deserved week of rest.
Now to share a little of the obligations.......I have been busy with some mandatory doctor appointments, which should all turn out fine but the big job or obligation this time of year was getting my student's work readied for the annual Fauquier County Arts Festival. I was thrilled to find out that one of my 6th graders tempera batik paintings was chosen to go on from our county show to a State competition representing the whole County middle school category so that was fulfilling. I am so proud of my young student. Wish I could take credit but cannot, I only taught her the technique, which she took instruction well; the design and composition is proud to say all hers. I look forward to having this young lady as a 7th and 8th grader. Would love to hear what y'all think of her painting?
